Growing in open disturbed area along intermittent stream with lots of exposed limestone and growing with Juglans nigra, Maclura pomifera, Ulmus pumila, Festuca arundinacea, Agrostis gigantea, Asclepias syriaca, Carex frankii, Elymus virginiana, Juncus dudleyi, Mentha x piperita, Phyla lanceolata, Rumex altissimus, Typha latifolia.
