Locality: | United States. Tennessee. Shelby: On the edge of an unpaved trail in the Old Growth Forest; fairly shady due to nearby trees, but some sunlight does break through. A fairly flat area. |
Description: | Herbaceous perennial wildflower. Round Green stem with composite leaves. Three clusters of very small unisexual flowers (2 clusters female surrounded by leafy tissue, 1 isolated and male). Flowers yellow-green, 5 petals. 6 leaves + 3 floral clusters emerge from single node at top of axis. On the edge of an unpaved trail in the Old Growth Forest; fairly shady due to nearby trees, but some sunlight does break through. A fairly flat area.
