Description: | Maintained field of grass with limited shade; some distance away from mid-size tree. Close to paved pathway for pedestrian use. A fairly flat area. Alt. 107.7 m. Small herbaceous wildflower; perennial. Round stem with opposite leaves. Two large sepals, small white flowers with 5 petals (pink stripes and a spot of yellow towards the base), 5 stamens (pink), 1 carpel (superior ovary). Some individuals had red stem, in contrast to typical light brown (green/purple mix). |
