Description:shaded area, moist soil. growing near fence line. common name is perennial sweet pea. climbing, about 23cm tall. inflorescence purple-blue. can also be pink and red. leaves lanceolate. herbaceous perennial vine. european native. the seeds of some species in the genus hold a toxic amino acid that causes severe disease of the nervous system know as the 'Lathyrism' if eaten in large amounts
