Description:Large shrub or small tree growing to 11 meters tall. Simple, alternate whorled deciduous leaves, entire and obovate-lanceolate. Perfect, dark maroon colored flowers, three sepals and six petals. Fruits are large yellowish-green to brown berries, 5-16 centimeters long. Along trail in front of dog park
