Locality:United States. Tennessee. Shelby: Found near Stewart Domitory at Rhodes College. In alley way, imbedded with other plants in the shade, soil moist.
Description:In alley way, imbedded with other plants in the shade, soil moist. Sample is about 20cm in length. Inflorescence blue, enclosed in spathe, three petals. Monocut, forb/herb, perennial. Erect or prostrate creeping, glabrous to pubescent at the nodes. Leaves lanceolate to ovate, glaucous on the underside, hairy on top. Escaped from Asia. The genus Commelina was named for members of an 18th century Dutch family.
