Locality: | United States. Tennessee. Jackson: 36°13'08.0N 85°30'06.8W; Dirt cave near Roaring River in Jackson County. Get on highway 135 North,continue on for about 35 minutes, then veer off onto Overton Road. Turn right onto Roaring River Road. |
Description: | Plant was across the riverbed and opposite of the cave in a clearing that was surrounded by trees just above the riverbank. Surrounded by many plants less than a foot high. Soil appeared to be somewhat rocky. Johnson grass is an abundant species found along the side of roads. The inflorescence ranges between 15-18 in. The seeds are yellow and pods have been opened. |
