Locality:United States. Tennessee. Jackson: 36°13'08.0N 85°30'06.8W; Dirt cave near Roaring River in Jackson County. Get on highway 135 North,continue on for about 35 minutes, then veer off onto Overton Road. Turn right onto Roaring River Road.
Description:Plant was across the riverbed and opposite of the cave in a clearing that was surrounded by trees just above the riverbank. Surrounded by many plants less than a foot high. Soil appeared to be somewhat rocky. Johnson grass is an abundant species found along the side of roads. The inflorescence ranges between 15-18 in. The seeds are yellow and pods have been opened.
